Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft

The UFO Mystery Ship docks at Port Earl

Frank Henriquez, the very kind fellow who runs the Lief Erickson tribute page I mentioned a few days back, has very kindly shipped me an assembled resin replica of the scout vessel that came with the UFO Mystery Ship. It's all primed and ready for painting - all I need to do is pick up some glow-in-the-dark paint, and it'll be just like I'm 8 years old again. What a treat, to get something like this in the mail! It's a beautiful gesture, and I'm very touched. Thanks a bunch, Frank!

  1. Damn. I totally forgot about that little ship! I painted one of those in Revell neon paint in a past life. It was cast in glow-in-the-dark milky-green styrene!

  2. You had the same model I did! My original was cast in glow in the dark styrene; this one's in resin and will need glow-in-the-dark paint to achieve the same effect. Very cool nonetheless. I think I'll paint the windows black, leave the rest all glowy.

  3. Going through the archive by theme, this model making entry caught my eye. I am not at all surprised that Jeffries designed the ship, as elements of it reminded me of the Klingon "D-7" from classic Trek.

  4. Steve, I'd like to bring the model over at some point and give it a coat of glow-in-the-dark paint if you can loan me a brush and some pointers.
