So I just signed up for Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop and Lightroom) to play with some of the new features. And like a child playing with fire, I've made a hash of things. See, I would have gone with Oompa-Loompa, or in this case, Earlpa-Learlpa. But I bow low to the far superior geekdom displayed win the Frank Herbert quote. Well played, sir! Your kung-fu is indeed the strongest kung-fu.
I also went with the Painter upgrade over the Photoshop upgrade. Is the new Photoshop that much better than the old? I loathe the Adobe subscription service, it's only a small step up from national socialism.
In either platform, the pens/brushes are all poorly named. For the majority of them, if you use the pen/brush the way it's named, then you're likely using it wrong. It's the end result that matters, though. Frankly, I am deeply proud of the Earlpa-Learlpa that would even consider buying Photoshop, let alone use it well. The Earlpa-Learlpa in his university days would never have done that.
