Earl: Total War

A few days back Jeff Shyluk was playing Empire: Total War when he noticed something interesting and took the screenshot above.

If you zoom in, you'll see that this bewigged fellow, one Earl Woods, is serving as Governor of a territory in northern Ontario. Sadly, Jeff tells me that my computer warlord namesake lasted only a few months in the position. That's longer than I'd last as a real-world warlord, I expect.

  1. This blog is all about MEEEEEE!!!! Two posts in a row about me, I am honoured.

Sadly, this also pretty much encompasses my life for the past I don't know how long now, so there's no real need for me to start a blog of my own. If you wanted to know what was happening in my life, well, that was it.

To clarify, the game created the Earl Woods name on its own. Governor Woods was actually in charge of the entire British colonial effort in North America, which included Northern Ontario and several small Caribbean islands.

Governor Woods preferred his black-fly infested eirie of Moose Factory in frozen Northern Canada over some nameless, pristine, topless-native-maiden-infested beach in the tropics. His taxation and social policies proved to be unpopular and after four undistinguished years, Governor Woods was replaced with a somewhat more ambitious candidate.

  2. I can only assume he was replaced by Sean Woods.
